At Kamarajar College of Nursing, we believe that every student deserves a campus environment that is safe, respectful, and welcoming. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited both on and off-campus. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy and are fully committed to ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all our students.
What is Ragging?
Ragging refers to any form of physical, verbal, emotional, or psychological harassment or humiliation inflicted on a student by another. It can range from seemingly minor pranks to severe forms of abuse.
As per Indian law, ragging is not just unethical—it is a criminal offense. The Honourable Supreme Court of India has categorically declared ragging a punishable act, subject to legal proceedings including imprisonment.
Our Stand
At Kamarajar College of Nursing:
- Ragging in any form is strictly forbidden on campus, in hostels, during clinical training, and outside the institution.
- Violators will face immediate disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion, and police involvement, as mandated by law.
- The institution complies fully with the Anti-Ragging Act, guidelines from the Indian Nursing Council, and directives from the Supreme Court of India.
Anti-Ragging Enforcement Cell
To prevent, detect, and address any form of ragging, we have established a dedicated Anti-Ragging Cell consisting of faculty, staff, and student representatives. The cell:
- Conducts regular orientation and awareness programs
- Provides confidential complaint mechanisms
- Responds swiftly to any reported incidents
- Works collaboratively to build a culture of respect and trust

If you experience or witness any form of ragging, please report it immediately. Your identity will be kept confidential and action will be taken swiftly.
